Structure Fire

At approximately 2:30am on 12/29 stations 223,222,227,233 & 225 were alerted for a residential structure fire. 223 engine along with 233 truck arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a 2 story structure. 227 engine arrived and secured a water supply to 223 engine. Crews from 223,222 227 made an interior attack finding fire on the 2nd floor. 233 truck crew was assigned to the roof for ventilation. 225 truck crew assisted crews pulling ceiling. 285 was added to the assignment for man power. Crews brought the fire under control in about 1 hour. Crews were able to rescue several animals from the resident and reunite them with the resident. The family displaced will be receiving assistance from the Red Cross for temporary housing.

 

Status update:

It’s starting to become closer to everyone’s favorite time of the year, Christmas!! It’s even our favorite time of the year because that means we get to drive Santa around on the fire truck!! This year Santa will be in the North Bessemer VFD Fire District on December 22nd. We will keep posting reminders as we get closer to the 22nd. We hope we get to see everyone!!! Vehicle Accident – 1200 blk Universal Road

On New Years Day, shortly after 3am Stations 227 & 223 were alerted for a single vehicle accident that was on fire in the 1200-blk of Universal Rd. PHPD arrived on scene and confirmed the vehicle was not on fire and the operator field the scene on foot. 227EN arrived on scene and provided traffic control, scene lighting, and debris cleanup. PHPD is investigating the cause of the accident.
