28 N Joslyn Dr – Brush Fire

On Tuesday evening, at 17:05, Stations 226, 227 & 223 were alerted for a brush fire in the area of 28 N. Joslyn Dr in Penn Hills. EN-226 & EN-227 in the area, requesting Mini-223 & EN-223-2 access this fire from Guylyn Dr.  Crews from 223 located the fire and began extinguishing the fire with brush brooms and water cans. Crews from 226 & 227 Assisted. Fire out, All crews returned in service. No injuries were reported.

732 Valemont Dr – Residential Structure Fire

On Tuesday morning, at 08:55, Stations 224,223 & 222 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 732 Valemont Dr in Penn Hills. Multiple calls to ACES-911 for a working structure fire, caller reporting multiple containers of R-22 freon in the garage exploding. Police on scene confirming working structure fire. EN-222 & EN-223-2 arrived on scene, crews pulling 2.5″ line and going to work in the rear. Command requesting next due alarm, bringing EN-226 & TK-227 to the scene. TK-227 arrived on scene, crews laddering the structure and venting the roof. Fire out, overhaul performed, crews remained on scene for 2 hours. Scene was turned over to the ACFM. No Injuries were reported.

421 Long Rd – Residential Structure Fire

Around 9:30pm on Monday evening, Stations 227, 222, 223, 225, 196 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 421 Long Rd.  AC911 reported the homeowner was unaccounted for.  227 Assistant-2 and PHPD arrived at the house with smoke showing.  The home owner was located and assisted out of the house by PHPD.  227 Assistant-2 knocked the fire down with an extinguisher till crews from 227 & 222 extinguished the fire.  223 secured a water supply and 225 checked for any extension. 196 units staged for RIT. The home owner was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  ACFM is investigating.

Rodi @ Stoneledge – 4 Car MVA W/ Injuries

On Monday afternoon, Station 227, 223, 222 was alerted for a four (4) car accident with injuries and one vehicle on fire.  227EN arrived on scene with two (2) vehicles off to the side of the road and another (2) in the middle of the roadway.  No vehicle were on fire, just smoking.  227EN assisted PH EMS with patient care.  All other fire units were cancelled.

1400-Blk Frey Rd – Vehicle Rollover

On Monday morning, Stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover, unknown entrapment.  227RQ arrived on scene with PHPD to find a single vehicle   accident with one SUV on its side.  The driver was able to get out of the vehicle under there own power.  Due to icy road condition, 227RQ remained on scene to block the road till the vehicle could be up righted

1170 Milltown Rd – Commercial Structure Fire

On Sunday morning, March 17, at 01:14, Stations 223, 226 & 227 were alerted for a possible commercial structure fire at 1170 Milltown Rd. Multiple calls to the 911 center for smoke showing from this address. EN-223-2 on scene, light smoke coming from the roof. The engine crew forced the door and pulled ceiling to find smoldering fire. TK-227 arrived on scene and laddered the structure and sent crews to the roof to open the roof and hit everything with a 1.5′ hose line. Fire out, All units were returned in service. The scene was turned over to the ACFM for investigation.

6600-Blk Leechburg Rd – MVA W/ Rollover

On Wednesday March 13, at 08:15, Rescue Companies 223,222 & 227 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with roll over & injuries in the 6600-Blk of Leechburg Rd. EN-223-1 arrived on scene with one vehicle on its roof, all occupants out of the vehicle. All incoming units were canceled, EN-223-1 remained on scene to assist police with traffic and fluid containment. Vehicle removed by tow, all units returned in service.

Thompson Run Rd/Frey Rd – Brush Fire

On March 11th, 2013 Stations 226,223 & 227 were alerted for a possible brush fire in the area of Thompson Run Rd & Frey Rd. Chief 226 in the area reporting good brush fire down near the railroad tracks, requesting all units access the road from B Street. Mini 223 & EN-227 arrived on scene and start knocking down the fire with brush brooms and booster line. Fire out, All units returned in service as they picked up.

400 Station St – Vehicle Fire

On Sunday, March 10th, Station 223 was alerted at 04:31 for a possible vehicle fire. Police on scene stating passenger compartment smoking. EN-223-2 arrived on scene, fire out on arrival, hot spots hit with water cans. Fire out, crews returned in service.
