6500-Blk Saltsburg Rd – MVA W/ Rollover

On Thursday evening, companies 223, 222, 227 & 226 were alerted for a single vehicle accident, one vehicle overturned into a telephone pole. 223 Asst. arrived on scene, one vehicle on its roof all occupants out of the vehicle. The assignment was held to RQ-222 due to being on the road already. The Asst. and Rescue remained on scene till the vehicle was removed by tow.

Milltown @ Boda Rd – MVA W/ Rollover & Entrapment

On Tuesday, Rescue companies 223, 227 & 227 were alerted for a single vehicle accident, box truck on it’s side with entrapment. Due to the area of the call, Plum Unity RQ-233 was added to the assignment. As units were marking on the air, PD on scene confirmed its in plum, negative entrapment, 1 injury. EN-223-1 arrived and assisted with patient care, RQ-233 also. Scene turned over the police, all units returned in service.

Happy Holidays!

On December 22, Santa came to visit the kids of the North Bessemer Volunteer Fire Department District. Firefighters brought Santa around on the fire truck for all the kids to see him. We hope everyone got to see Santa. Remember, its always the Sunday before Christmas. December 21, 2014 Look for Santa again! We hope everyone has a very happy and safe holiday. Leechburg @ Cloverleaf – MVA W/ Injuries

On Friday, Stations 223 & 227 were alerted for a 2 vehicle accident with injuries. 223LT arrived on scene and started patient care. 227RQ & 223EN1 arrived on scene and assisted with patient care as well. Two patients were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

450-Blk Hulton Rd – Vehicle vs. Pedestrian

On Wednesday, Stations 223, 222, 227 were alerted for a vehicle vs pedestrian. Fire units arrived on scene to find that the vehicle has slipped out of gear and ran a family member over. The vehicle rolled down the hill and hit a gas meter before coming to rest in a creek. The vehicle was unoccupied. Fire units were able to shut the gas meter off. The patient was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

249 Cypress Hill Dr – Residential Structure Fire

On Thursday evening, Stations 223, 227 & 226 were alerted for a residential structure fire at 249 Cypress Hill Dr. Police on scene reporting working fire. EN-223-2 arrived on scene, heavy smoke showing. EN-223-2 crew advanced 1.5′ into the front door and started to attack the fire. EN-223-1 arrived and secured the plug. Command requesting next due engine and truck, bringing Station 222 and Truck 225. EN-227 arrived on scene and performed a secondary search, negative results. TK-227 arrived and set up for aerial operations. Crews operated on scene for approx. 3 hours. Great job by all units on scene, No injuries were reported. Special Thank You to Murrysville Medic One Rehab for bringing out torpedo heaters to keep us warm during the freezing temperatures.

On Tuesday, Rescue companies 222, 223 & 227 were alerted for a accident with injuries, one occupied school bus into a utility pole with multiple injuries. RQ-227 assisted EMS with patient care. Multiple juveniles were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Thompson Run @ Frey Rd – MVA W/ Injuries

On Tuesday morning, Station 226 & Rescue Companies 223, 222 & 227 were alerted for a multi vehicle accident with injuries, one vehicle over the hillside. RQ-227 arrived on scene with a multi car pike up. AK-226 found one vehicle off the road further up on Thompson Run, all patients where located with negative injuries. Dozens of cars were stranded due to the icy road conditions.

On Monday afternoon, Rescue companies 227, 223 & 222 were alerted for a two vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment. PH EMS& RQ-227 arrived on scene, all patients out of the vehicle prior to arrival. RQ-227 assisted the medics with two patients. All units returned in service as they picked up.

10840 Highpoint Dr – Residential Structure Fire

Shortly before 1:00am on Monday morning, Stations 227, 223, 225, 222, 196 were alerted for a bedroom on fire. 227 Chief arrived on scene with smoke showing. All occupants were out of the house. CH-227 knocked down the fire will an extinguisher. EN-227-1 arrive on scene and crew extinguished the smoldering debris. EN-222-1 was assigned ventilation, TK-225 checked for extents ion. EN-223-2 secured utilities to the house. The fire was contained to the room of origin. No injuries were reported. The Allegheny County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire. Special thanks to PH DPW, crews had the street salted while fire units were arriving on scene.
